What registration itself costs

- Failing to register
- Up to £7,000
- The same ceiling applies to marketing a property without both entries active, or leaving the two numbers out of a written advert.
- False or misleading information
- Up to £40,000
- Also the ceiling for a breach that continues 28 days after a penalty, or a repeat within five years.
Renters’ Rights Act 2025, ss.82 and 91, and the draft Regulations. These are paid to, and enforced by, the government and local authorities. Indate is not involved in either, and buying it does not discharge any of them.

Billing
How the payment works
Apple takes the money, not Bitcraftery. Both options are bought inside the app, through your Apple Account. We never see your card details, and there is nothing to pay on this website.
The annual plan renews on its own. The first 14 days are free. After that it renews at £34.99 a year unless you turn renewal off at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Renewal and cancellation live in your App Store account settings, on the iPhone: Settings, your name, then Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next payment and leaves you with the app until the period you have already paid for runs out.
Lifetime is a single purchase. £59.99, nothing renews, nothing to cancel. Change phone and “Restore purchases”, in Settings or on the purchase screen, brings it back on any iPhone signed in to the same Apple Account.
Refunds are Apple’s to give. Ask for one at reportaproblem.apple.com. If something in the app is wrong, tell us as well — [email protected] — because a date the engine gets wrong is a bug we want to know about today.
Prices are the UK App Store prices, in pounds, including any tax Apple collects. Apple sets the equivalent price in other storefronts.
Questions
The ones worth asking
- Is there a free version?
- No. The 14-day trial is the free version, and it is the whole app rather than a cut-down one. You add your first property, choose an option, and the trial starts there.
- Does this include the £65 registration fee?
- No. That is a government fee for each dwelling entry, paid on the government service at the point you register. Indate never handles it, and paying for Indate does not register anything.
- Do I pay more for more properties?
- No. The price is the same for one property and for fifteen. The government fee is the one that scales: £65 for each dwelling entry, every year.
- The Regulations are still in draft. What if the dates move?
- They might. The fee, the 28-day update window, the region table and the deadlines all live in a small file the app re-downloads, so a change to the timetable reaches you without a new version of the app and without a second payment. The app works offline on the copy it ships with.
- What do you collect about me?
- Nothing that identifies a property or a person. There is no account and no cloud copy — your properties, tenants, certificates and scans stay on the device. Anonymous crash reports and usage counts tell us what to fix; they never carry an address, a tenant’s name, a certificate reference or a registration number. This website sets no tracking cookies at all.
You register on the government service yourself. Indate cannot submit a registration on your behalf, and nor can a letting agent — the landlord must do it personally.
